At the Age of 20, Emiliano Ortiz released his self-titled debut album Emiliano Ortiz proving hes not just another guitar player. The album was compiled from a collection of songs written between the ages of 17 to 20 that proved Emilianos worth as a singer songwriter. While the album showcased Emilianos range and style it lacked the focus that makes his new EP, I Cant Have, a more listenable and instantly familiar album. I Cant Have is the follow-up EP that continues to draw from the life discoveries of Emiliano Ortiz while maintaining a cohesive vibe that can only be described as the result of the love-child of Ray Charles and Paul McCartney being babysat by The Four Tops. Classical diminished chords chime into your brain with ease while Beach Boys harmonies penetrate your ear drums.

The opening track "I Can't Have" is an upbeat feel good song which sheds light on one thing you will never be able to have, coincidentally being the one thing you will always want the most. "Take Me Back" deals with the nostalgia of wanting to be a child again and break away from lust, alcohol and greed while keeping a gospel feel with classical overtones. "Headband girl" goes into the battle between beauty and self-worth, personality vs. bone-structure, with a Motown groove and flamenco inspired melodies. The I Can't Have EP from Emiliano Ortiz boasts a flavorful sound that incorporates an old school musical approach with instantly familiar vocals that will get you dancing.
